GermanyEberswalde: In April 1982 the last oil-fired locomotives of class 44 were dumped. This seems to be the end of steam in Eberswalde at all, but it wasn't so: On 19th May of 1982 with 52.8132-4 the first engine of class 52.80 came back to Eberswalde, four further locomotives until the end of the year. They were hauling heavy freight trains to Berlin and Frankfurt/Oder, but only until March 1987. After this the locomotives were only used for heating and special services. On 16th April of 1991 the last engine (50.3648-8) was fired out - the definitivly end of steam at Eberswalde...
