Germany GermanyFrankfurt/Oder: No other depot all over Europe was such a great centre of class 52 like Frankfurt/Oder. Caused by the dissolution of the Transportation Groups of the Soviet Military Administration in Germany (SMAD) Frankfurt/Oder had a stock of 170 (!) engines of class 52 in January 1953. Frankfurt/Oder kept it's status as largest centre of the DRG-52 until the end of steam activities in Germany. In 1980 still 24 locomotives were based here. The last steam-services ended in 1987...
