GermanyWaldeisenbahn Muskau (WEM): The former forestry lines in Bad Muskau' area were closed down at the end of the 70s. These 600 mm gauge lines were part of the Deutsche Reichsbahn and had old 0-8-0T engines in use, build during World War I for services behind the front-line. Only one of the lines survived as a dieselised brickwork line. In the 90s the brickworks were closed down too and railway enthusiasts took over the line. They repaired the tracks, brought original steam engines back and build up a museum. The annually "Plandampf" (since 2000) is a real highlight - here are some pictures of the "Plandampf 2001" in December 2001...
