Poland (1995)In late autumn of 1990 it was only a question of time until the operations of the last steam locomotives of the polish Mikado-Class Pt47 were historic. Last passenger trains were running at the beautiful line Klodzko - Walbrzych, which is famous for its characteristic bridges and tunnels. In 1990 the dream of a working Railway-Museum at Klodzko seems reachable - but it never came true...
Klodzko (Glatz) In 1990 the rolling stock of the depot was very low: Only two engines of class Pt47 and about 5 or 6 engines class Tkt48 were serviceable. The class Pt47 was used for the passenger trains at the line to Walbrzych, while the Tkt48's were running to Stronie Sl., Kudowa Zdroj and Zloty Stok (via Kamieniec Zab.). A big problem were the increased diesel operations. Mostly one of the Pt47 was under steam, but because of the diesel it only run once or twice a week - or not at all. In winter 1990/1991 steam was over - only the Tkt48 survived until autumn 1991 at the line to Stronie. The depot was closed down, but the serviceable engines found a new home at the museums of Jaworzyna Sl. and Chabowka.
