Poland (December 2003)Nysa (Neisse) The first engines of DRG-class 52 came to Nysa in 1940s. It was the beginning of the 50 years long history of the war-time locomotives in Nysa. The engines were used in services on the main lines Kedzierzyn - Kamieniec Zabk. and Opole - Nysa and on the branch lines to Brzeg and Glucholazy too. The line Nysa - Nowy Swietow - Glucholazy became the last resort for steam in the 80s, but at last only in winter time. These services ended in February 1991 definitively.
On my first and only stop over in Nysa in October 1990 the winter-season had not started. Some engines were under light steam in the depot, but were was no regular use in service at this time. So I took some less photos and went back to Klodzko next morning...
