Poland (September 2000)Wolsztyn (Wollstein): Everybody knows this last paradies of steam in Europe. So this should be a thanks to all who are making it possible to see steam hauled trains in the new century.
But there are also some bad news from Wolsztyn: The last DRG-class 52 was set out of use in September 2000. The classes Ty2 and Ty42 were an important part of the traction in Wolsztyn over many years. But not only the engines are out of use or cut down - many of the former lines were closed down too. Who still remembers locations like Sulechow, Nowa Sol, Kozuchow, Niegoslawice and Opalenica? The following pictures are dedicated to the great time of the class 52 in Wolsztyn...

| Once in very good condition - today it's already scraped: Ty42-59 (14.07.1990) at the station Wolsztyn. | Still scraped is Ty2-249 too. In summer 1991 it was waiting in the depot Wolsztyn. | |

| Also cutted down: on 14.07.1990 Ty2-710 was dumped, but some weeks later it was running again for Zbaszynek. | It was the Star-engine of Wolsztyn for a long time: Ty42-87 hauling a train at Ruchocice (06.04.1992). |
| The last non-museal Ty2 of Wolsztyn was Ty2-1086, shunting in it's last year at Tuchorza, 30.09.1994), a little station at the line Zbaszyn - Leszno. |
